It was all good just a week ago
A mutual understanding
An intentional framework for peace
Respect thought to be reciprocal
When dug deeper below the surface
Uncovers the disbelief
Resentments and conscious bias
That could unravel any peace treaty
While it all good just a week a ago
A week in July has been a teachable one
Ones actions will show the cracks in theirs words
Was the lesson I was forced to sit through
So as a thank you to a week in July
I will take this lesson and apply where applicable
The wisdom bestowed upon me
And remember never to sacrifice my heart for those all to ready to perform the surgery.

Sometimes the most revealing mirror is someone else’s sudden change. A week can stretch like a lifetime when truths begin to surface.
Like the previous person said, you did a great job at showing how things gradually unfolded. Definitely a reminder that certain relationships have seasons...and those seasons can carry very valuable lessons.
